Memphis rapper Snootie Wild has died following a shooting in Houston on Friday (February 25).

According to ABC 13, Wild sustained a gunshot wound to the neck and was discovered inside a ditch beside an SUV. Though he was allegedly still alive when authorities arrived on the scene, Wild died from his injuries later on Friday.

“It looks like he backed in there (the ditch) accidentally. Then the other vehicle pulled up, and folks got out of the car,” said one Houston police officer. “They were talking for a little bit, and then all of a sudden, gunfire went off. Only one shot, actually.”

The death of Wild – born LePreston Porter – marks the second Memphis rapper to be gunned down in recent months, following the death of Young Dolph in November.
