Trae Young Agrees Deal To Stay At Atlanta Hawks

Atlanta Hawks star point guard Trae Young agrees rookie maximum extension that sees the player set to stay for a further five years, his agent tells ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Within the deal is a 30% escalator clause which will be activated if the point guard is voted in one of the three all NBA teams.
This will see Young’s guaranteed $172 million rise to a total $207 million if activated.
This contract is set to start in the 2022/23 season and last until 2026/27.
Also included in the contract is a termination option which can be activated following the end of the fourth year.
Trae Young and the Hawks reached the finals of the Eastern Conference playoffs, as they took eventual NBA champions Milwaukee Bucks to six games in the finals.
