Serena Williams Calls Out “Biased” NYT After Using Picture Of Venus Williams

Global tennis star Serena Williams has called out The New York Times after they printed a story about her using a picture of her sister Venus Williams.
The story detailed how Williams’ venture capital firm has raised over $100 million that will be invested in founders with diverse points of view.
But the picture featured was of Venus – not Serena – as the latter took to Twitter to point out.
“No matter how far we come, we get reminded that it’s not enough,” she wrote. “This is why I raised $111M for @serenaventures.”
No matter how far we come, we get reminded that it's not enough. This is why I raised $111M for @serenaventures. To support the founders who are overlooked by engrained systems woefully unaware of their biases. Because even I am overlooked. You can do better, @nytimes. pic.twitter.com/hvfCl5WUoz

The newspaper’s business account replied to the tweet claiming it was “due to an error”.
This was our mistake. It was due to an error when selecting photos for the print edition, and it did not appear online. A correction will appear in tomorrow’s paper.
