Roger Federer’s Coach “Can’t Imagine” Him Recovering For Wimbledon

It looks like his recovery isn’t going quite according to plan, as Roger Federer’s coach Severin Luthi has already estimated that the tennis star won’t be back in time for this years Wimbledon.
40-year-old Federer has not played since his exit from the Wimbledon quarter-finals last year, as he ended his season to undergo a third surgery in less than two years.
Tennis fans hoping to see him compete anytime soon will have to wait a bit longer.
“At the moment, I don’t see how he should play in Wimbledon either,” his coach said via The Express. “I’m not the one who says ‘impossible’. But I can’t imagine it right now.”
Luthi revealed that Federer is still in the ‘rehabilitation’ phase of his recovery. With Wimbledon scheduled for the summer, it’s a clear indication of how far Federer still has to go.
The Swiss international is, however, chalked down to compete in the upcoming Laver Cup set for September.
Whether or not he is on course to achieve competing there remains to be seen as of right now.
