Robert De Niro has spoken out against Donald Trump saying he is “a real racist,” — explaining that he’s concerned about the right-wing leaning of the current administration.

The actor was recently interviewed by The Guardian when he said, “When you see someone like [Donald] becoming president, I thought, well, OK, let’s see what he does — maybe he’ll change.

But he just got worse. It showed me that he is a real racist. I thought maybe as a New Yorker he understands the diversity in the city but he’s as bad as I thought he was before — and much worse. It’s a shame. It’s a bad thing in this country.”

Robert goes on to say he believes Donald is a white supremacist and when he was asked if he believes the president is a fascist, he said, “I guess that’s what it leads to. If he had his way, we’d wind up in a very bad state in this country. I mean, the way I understand it, they laughed at Hitler. They all look funny. Hitler looked funny, Mussolini looked funny and other dictators and despots look funny.”

He has six biracial children, two with his first wife, Diahnne Abbott, two with his longtime girlfriend Toukie Smith and two with his wife Grace Hightower — who Robert is now going through a divorce with — Robert said he is more concerned about the right-wing leaning of the administration, saying, “Yeah, I worry, and one of my kids is gay, and he worries about being treated a certain way. We talk about it,”

At last year’s Tony Awards, Robert famously caused outrage amongst many when he said, “F*** Trump!” whilst he was presenting a reward. Funny thing is, he also says he doesn’t regret doing it. He recently spoke to The New Yorker and said, “It was impromptu… I feel that more people should speak out against him and not be genteel about it.”

What are your thoughts on Robert’s comments on Donald’s presidency?
