Olivia Rodrigo Discusses Her Different Career Path

In a recent interview with Nylon, Olivia Rodrigo talks about her music and acting career. 

During the interview Nylon brought up the careers of Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus.

In response, Rodrigo said that “They acted and made music, but it always seemed like their music careers were tethered to their Disney work.”

The young star expressed that her music and acting career “feels very separate.”

The question came as some of her songs contain curse words.

Rodrigo replied saying that she is, “very aware of that ‘Disney pop girl’ archetype.”

And also mentioned how she has “always wanted to be taken seriously as a songwriter.
