Nikola Jokic Wins Kia NBA Most Valuable Player Award

The Denver Nuggets Center, Nikola Jokic becomes the first Nuggets player to win the Kia NBA MVP award.

Jokic has now joined an iconic class of players who have previously won the award including, Kobe Bryant, Larry Bird and Michael Jordan, to name a few.

The player was drafted in the second round of the 2014 draft to Denver, with the 41st overall pick. Jokic was in the final three with Stephen Curry and Joel Embiid. 

In his sixth NBA season the Jokic played all of Denvers 72 games. Averaging, “a career-high 26.4 points, 10.9 rebounds, a career-high 8.4 assists and 1.31 steals in 34.8 minutes.” NBA report.

Denver finished the season earning the third seed in the Western Conference. Currently the Nuggets are 1-0 down in a best of seven series against first seed Phoenix Suns in the Western Conference Semi Finals.
