JoJo Siwa Drops Out Of Will Smith-Backed Movie ‘Bounce’
YouTuber and DWTS contestant JoJo Siwa has dropped out of Will Smith’s upcoming film Bounce.
The 18-year-old entertainer was set to star in the upcoming movie, which is based on book of the same name by Megan Shull.
According to Variety, Siwa has left the project, and Paramount Pictures has also dropped the film from it’s development slate.
“That project got put on hold, and then went away. It wasn’t the one,” Siwa said of the project at the 2022 GLADD Media awards last weekend.
The outlet also notes that the project reportedly fell apart months ago and its demise is not related to Smith’s assault of comedian Chris Rock at this year’s Oscars.
Bounce made waves last July, when Siwa, who came out as pansexual months prior, revealed that the films script included a kissing scene with a male co-star. You can read more about this here.
Siwa said at the time she was concerned that her young fanbase would not be able to differentiate between her real-life persona and her on-screen character.
