Jennifer Lopez Announces Engagement To Ben Affleck
Jennifer Lopez has announced her engagement to Ben Affleck, 18 years after the couple called off their wedding.
Teasing the news on Instagram, Lopez revealed her engagement in her On the JLo newsletter, where a video was posted of her emotionally admiring her new green engagement ring.
“I always say the colour green is my lucky colour. Maybe you can remember a certain green dress,” she wrote, referencing her 2000 Grammys outfit. “I’ve realised there are many moments in my life where amazing things happened when I was wearing things.”

The 52-year-old singer has since added a ring emoji to her Twitter handle.
Confirming their rekindled romance in July 2021, rumours of their relationship began circulating months earlier, following Affleck’s split from ex-girlfriend Ana de Armas.
Dubbed “Bennifer” by the press, Lopez and Affleck formerly dated between 2002 and 2004, citing the extreme media scrutiny as one of the reasons for the separation.
Opening up about her “second chance” with Affleck during an interview with People in February, Lopez said, “I feel so lucky and happy and proud to be with him.”
“It’s a beautiful love story that we got a second chance.” She added, “Before we kind of put [our relationship] out there and we were naive and it got a little trampled.”
“We’re older now, we’re smarter, we have more experience, we’re at different places in our lives, we have kids now, and we have to be very conscious of those things.” She continued, “I just feel very happy and lucky to be in a relationship that’s happy and loving, and I want to do everything I can to protect that and keep it safe. It deserves that, it really does… We hold it sacred.”
