‘House Of The Dragon’ Adds Seven New Cast Members

HBO’sGame Of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon has signed on an additional seven cast members.

The seven new additions round-off a cast that already stars Matt Smith, Paddy Considine, Emma D’Arcy, Olivia Cooke, Milly Alcock, Emily Carey, Eva Best, Steve Toussaint, Rhys Ifans, Sonoya Mizuno, and Fabien Frankel.

House of the Dragon is set around 300 years before the events of the original series. It is based on the book Fire & Blood by George R.R. Martin and depicts the slow decline of the reigning House Targaryen.

According to Deadline, the new castmates include Ryan Corr, Jefferson Hall, David Horovitch, Graham McTavish, Matthew Needham, Bill Paterson, and Gavin Spokes.

Corr will reportedly depict the heir of Harrenhall and the strongest man in the Seven Kingdoms: Ser Harwin ‘Breakbones’ Strong. His on-screen family includes Needam as his younger brother Larys Strong and Spokes as their father, Lyonel Strong.

Snagging two roles in the series is Hall – who will portray twin brothers: Lord of Casterly Rock, Jason Lannister, and calculated politician, Tyland Lannister.

Meanwhile, Horovitch will play trusted advisor to the King, Grand Maester Mellos; McTavish will play the knight, Ser Harold Westerling, and Paterson will portray Master of Coin, Lord Lyman Beesbury.

Production on the new series is already underway in the UK, with a scheduled 2022 release date.
