‘House Of The Dragon’ Is The Only Confirmed Game Of Thrones Spin-off

Only one spin-off to the globally acclaimed Game of Thrones series has been greenlit, despite ongoing rumours of additional shows in the works.
House of The Dragon is so far the only spin-off series to be approved by HBO. The show acts as a prequel, set 300 years before the events of the original series, and depicts the decline of House Targaryen. It is an adaptation of George R.R. Martin’s book ‘Fire & Blood‘ and is set to star Matt Smith, Emma D’Arcy, Olivia Cooke and Paddy Considine.
“The good news is that everything you do becomes news.” Stated Casey Bloys, chief programmer at HBO. “Any script that is in development or script that is pitched becomes news and it inevitably get reported and people assume they are in production. Only House of The Dragon is in production, the rest is in development, and we will make a decision.”
His comments came at a press events at WarnerMedia headquarters and were shared by Deadline.
Other alleged spin-off ideas include titles like, 10,000 Ships, Flea Bottom and 9 Voyages.
House of The Dragon is currently in production in the UK and hopes to air in 2022.
