Ed Sheeran Announces New Solo Single

Ed Sheeran has announced his first solo single in four years and says the new track will be out “in a few weeks”.
Sheeran’s last solo album was Divide, released in 2017. The album included tracks like ‘Perfect’, ‘Shape of You’ and ‘Castle on the Hill‘.
In 2019 Sheeran released his album No 6 Collaborations Project, which featured collaborations with the likes of Justin Bieber, Stormzy, Eminem, Travis Scott, Cardi B, Skrillex and Bruno Mars.
News of the new solo project was shared on Sheeran’s Facebook page.
“The moment you realise your first solo single in 4 years is coming out in a few weeks,” Wrote the British singer and songwriter.
Fans and fellow artists took to the comments to share their excitement.
“Can’t wait, I’m sure the music is going to be amazing!!” Said one fan.
Singer, Matteo Bocelli, commented a stream of hearts and prayers emojis.
Another fan wrote, “You are one of the best lyricists of your generation. Can’t wait.”
“4 years too long”, added DJ Rockstar, followed by several fire emojis.
According to PPL, Ed Sheeran is the second most played artist of 2020 after Dua Lipa claimed the top spot. Sheeran had been number one since 2017 but produced only one 2020 single (‘Afterglow‘), which is believed to have affected his place on the chart.
