BLACKPINK’s Lisa Adds Three More Guinness World Records To Her Collection As A Solo Artist

Lisa continues to make waves as a solo artist, having recently been awarded not one, not two, but three Guinness World Records.
The 25-year-old BLACKPINK singer and rapper has previously held records with her band, who currently hold titles for the most subscribers for a band on YouTube, the first K-pop group to reach number one on the UK albums chart (female) and the first K-pop group to reach number one on the US albums chart (female).
On Tuesday (24th January), Guinness World Records announced that Lisa now holds the records for being the first solo K-pop winner at the MTV Video Music Awards, the first solo K-pop winner at the MTV Europe Music Awards and for having the most followers on Instagram for a K-pop artist as of 19th January 2023, with 86.3 million followers.
Lisa broke out as a solo artist with her debut single LaLisa, which was released in September 2021.
Previous records held by BLACKPINK include most viewed YouTube video in 24 hours and the most viewed music video in 24 hours, which were both overtaken by BTS‘ Dynamite.
BLACKPINK will also be making history at an upcoming music festival and will be sure to add another Guinness World Record to their collection.
