Ariel Winter has replaced Demi Lovato in the cast of NBC’s new sitcom, Hungry.

Deadline reports that Lovato, who had been attached to the project for over a year, was forced to step aside from the project due to scheduling conflicts.

Though they will no longer feature in the cast, Lovato reportedly remains an executive producer alongside Scooter Braun, Scott Manson, James Shin, Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner.

The show, written by Suzanne Martin and directed by James Burrows, will follow friends from a food issues group as they attempt to navigate their way through life.

Winter will now star in the series’ pilot as Teddy – a food stylist who is trying to form a healthy relationship with food whilst dating men. She joins the likes of Valerie Bertinelli, Ryan McPartlin, Alex Brightman, Gabriel Iglesias and Ashley D. Kelley.

Best known for her childhood performance as Alex Dunphy in Modern Family, Winter also provided voice-over work in Mr Peabody and Sherman and Ice Age: The Meltdown. She has also featured in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Speed Racer and The Last Movie Star.

Hungry is due to begin production this week.
